The following websites provide information on how to look after your mental health.

    Available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. For anyone who is struggling to cope, who needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure.

  • Every Mind Matters

    Simple and practical ways to ease anxiety, manage stress, lift your mood and sleep better, through proven approaches like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).

  • Mental Health Matters

    A national charity with over 40 years of experience in delivering high-quality mental health services, providing innovative, life-changing mental health support for individuals and communities.

  • Shout

    Shout is the UK's first and only confidential, 24/7 text messaging service for anyone who is struggling to cope. It is FREE to text Shout from all major mobile networks in the UK.

  • Medway Council

    Mental wellbeing support and signposting to a variety of local services across Medway, including community groups and support for families.

  • Mind

    Advice and support for anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Mind campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.

  • Young Minds

    Whether you want to understand how you’re feeling, find ways to feel better, or support someone who's struggling, Young Minds is here to help.

  • Kooth

    A free, online service that offers mental health support for children and young people in the UK. It provides access to counsellors, peer support, and self-help resources.

  • Live Well Kent & Medway

    If you’re aged 17+ in Kent or Medway, Live Well can help you better manage your mental health, gain confidence, access free therapy and counselling-type services, and join local groups run by people with similar experiences.

  • Megan CIC

    Peer Support Groups for anyone aged over 17 experiencing mental health issues in Medway, Swale, Dartford, Gravesham, Swanley and West Kent.

SAFE HAVEN - MEDWAY

Safe Havens offer out of hours mental health support & information if people feel like they are in crisis or heading towards one. Anyone aged 16 years or over in Kent or Medway can use the services. No referral is needed. You can visit them for a chat or to access one-to-one emotional support from trained mental health professionals (both face to face and virtually).

HOMELESSNESS & FINANCIAL HARDSHIP SUPPORT

The following websites provide information for those experiencing homelessness and/or financial hardship.

  • Porchlight

    Porchlight help people facing the devastating effects of homelessness and tackle the causes and consequences of poverty and inequality.

  • Gillingham Street Angels

    Local people bringing communities & people together to address homelessness, financial hardship & food poverty, no matter the reason.

  • Salvation Army

    One to One Hub on Wednesdays 10am-12pm providing support with a variety of issues, including employment, money management and benefits.

  • All Saints Community Project Trust / The Magpie Centre

    Support and advice with benefits, completing forms, foodbanks and practical crisis relief including help with gas and electricity.

  • Citizens Advice Medway

    A registered charity that offers free, independent, confidential, and impartial advice 24/7. Whether that's employment, debt, family law, or something else. 

  • Medway Council (Housing)

    Provides information about housing options in Medway, including applying for social housing, requesting a home repair and youth homelessness.

  • Second Chance Medway

    Fair share food, toiletries and cleaning products at affordable prices. Additional help with financial challenges available by appointment.

  • Christians Against Poverty

    Advice and support with debt, budgeting skills, jobs and life skills. These services are also offered by CAP at various churches throughout the nation.

  • Green Doctor

    Help for anyone concerned about gas and electricity bills who is on low income, has long term health condition, is disabled, over 65 or has a child under 5.
